01 — Working with Shmeer
What does a digital marketing agency do?

A digital marketing agency plans and runs the channels that bring customers to a business online: search engine optimization, AI search visibility, paid ads, social media, websites, email and analytics. Shmeer does all of these under one roof, so the channels work as one plan instead of competing for credit.

What services does Shmeer offer?

SEO and content, generative engine optimization (GEO), PPC and paid social, web design and development, local SEO and local GEO, brand strategy, email and lifecycle, AI marketing automation, analytics, AI and digital transformation, and strategy advisory. See all services.

Who will actually work on my account?

Senior people. Shmeer is a small senior team by design: the person you talk to is the person doing the work. No juniors learning on your account.

What kinds of companies do you work with?

Ambitious brands across 14 industries, from DTC and B2B SaaS to fintech, hospitality and industrial companies, plus local service businesses through our local SEO, local GEO and website redesign services. We have worked with more than 120 brands since 2016.

Where are you based, and do you work remotely?

We work with clients across the US and EU, remotely, with regular video check-ins and shared dashboards.

02 — Pricing & contracts
How much do your services cost?

It depends on scope. After a discovery call and audit, you get a fixed proposal with the work, the timeline and the price. The exception is our small-business website redesign, which is a flat $500.

Do you charge a percentage of ad spend?

No. We price paid media on scope rather than spend, so our incentive is your return, not a bigger budget. See PPC management.

How long are your engagements?

SEO and GEO compound over time, so we plan them as a six-month minimum. Paid media runs monthly, and web design projects are scoped as fixed projects. The term is always stated in your proposal.

Who owns the accounts, content and data?

You do. Ad accounts, analytics, websites and content we create belong to you, and you keep full access throughout.

03 — Getting started
How do I get started?

Book a discovery call using the form on any page, or email roy@shmeer.com. We reply within 24 hours.

What happens after I sign?

A kickoff call, access to the accounts and tools we need, and an audit in the first one to two weeks. The audit becomes a prioritized plan with the KPIs we will report against, and then the work starts.

How will I know it is working?

Regular readouts tied to business results: leads, pipeline, sales and bookings, not just rankings and impressions. The dashboard you see is the same one we work from.

04 — GEO & AI search
What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?

GEO is the practice of getting your brand mentioned and cited in answers from AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews. See generative engine optimization services.

Is GEO the same as SEO?

No, but they share a foundation. SEO earns rankings in a list of results; GEO earns a place inside a single AI-generated answer, which depends more on third-party sources and clear, quotable content. Strong SEO makes GEO easier.

Are AEO and GEO different?

Mostly no. Answer engine optimization (AEO) is the older term from featured snippets and voice search; GEO is the newer term for large language models. The work is largely the same.

How do you measure AI visibility?

Share of voice on your category’s buyer questions, citation rate per AI engine, sentiment, competitor position, and AI referral traffic and leads, tracked weekly in InfluenceLayer.

Can local businesses benefit from GEO?

Yes. More customers ask AI assistants for the best business near them. See Local GEO.

05 — SEO
What is included in SEO services?

Technical SEO, on-page optimization, keyword research and mapping, content strategy and writing, link building and digital PR, and reporting tied to leads and revenue. See SEO services.

What is an SEO agency?

An SEO agency is a company that improves how a website ranks in search engines: fixing technical issues, matching pages to what customers search for, publishing content and earning links, and proving the impact on business results.

How long does SEO take?

Technical fixes can move rankings in weeks; most engagements see meaningful growth between months three and six, with the biggest gains after that.

Do you do local SEO?

Yes: Google Business Profile, reviews, local pages and citations. See local SEO services.

06 — Websites
How long does it take to build a website?

Six to ten weeks for a typical marketing site; longer for ecommerce and web applications. Small-business redesigns launch in about a week. See web design and development.

How much does a website redesign cost?

Agency redesigns often run from a few thousand dollars to over $10,000. Our small-business website redesign is a flat $500 for up to five pages, and you see the new homepage before you pay.

Will a redesign hurt my SEO?

Not when it is done properly. We redirect every old URL, keep the content that ranks and monitor Search Console after launch.

07 — InfluenceLayer
What is InfluenceLayer?

InfluenceLayer is our AI visibility platform. It tracks how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot talk about your brand and your competitors: citation share, sentiment and competitive position. Visit InfluenceLayer ↗

What is InfluenceLayer Local?

The local version of the platform. It scans how AI assistants recommend businesses in your trade area, city by city, and tracks your recommendation share against local competitors. It powers our Local GEO service.

Do I get access to InfluenceLayer as a client?

Yes. GEO and Local GEO engagements are tracked and reported through InfluenceLayer, and you see the same dashboard we work from.
